Subscriptions and recurring payments

Memberships, subscription boxes, retainers and software plans, collected automatically by card or Direct Debit.

What is included

  • Direct Debit through GoCardless, or card payments through Stripe Billing.
  • Free trials, introductory offers and discount codes.
  • Upgrades and downgrades with prorated charges.
  • Automatic reminders and retries when a payment fails.
  • A self-service page where customers update payment details, change plans or cancel.
  • Subscription data synced to your accounting software.

Why Direct Debit

For UK customers, Direct Debit usually has lower fees than cards and fewer failed payments, because bank accounts do not expire the way cards do. Many businesses offer both and let the customer choose.
